HNA will welcome Dr. Susana Reyes, Superintendent of Shoreline Schools, as our Guest Speaker at 7PM on Wednesday, May 15th
at City Hall - 17500 Midvale Ave N, Room 303.
Dr. Reyes was born in Mexico City, later immigrating to eastern Washington state with her parents and siblings. Together with them she assisted with seasonal farm work while finding caring support in the schools in Wapato.
After graduating from high school and attending Yakima Valley CC, she went to Washington State University. There she earned several degrees including a doctorate in educational leadership plus certifications in principal and superintendent leadership. She is a first generation college graduate.
After earning her doctorate, Dr. Reyes returned to her home town of Wapato to teach elementary school. She then served in three regional school districts as assistant superintendent. Her final post in this role was serving as assistant superintendent of operations in the Pasco school district.
Dr. Reyes is currently completing her third year in Shoreline as our Superintendent of Schools. At our meeting on May 15 she has chosen to address: The Budget and the State of the District.
Everyone is invited to attend. Following Dr.Reyes’ presentation will be refreshments and a short business meeting to elect and/or renew HNA board members. We will also report on the status of our current projects and neighborhood developments.
