Ann Erickson was the chairperson of Hillwood Community Network (later to become Hillwood Neighborhood Association) for ten years. Many will remember her from the Ice Cream Socials, the many book sales she collected books for, and her newsletters sent out regularly to those on the Hillwood email list. But before that decade, she headed up a volunteer group effort to clear tons of debris from what is now the beautiful woodland trail that takes us from Dayton Ave N to Fremont Ave N on N 198th.

After talking to Ann about the possibility of naming the trail and dedicating it to her, HNA asked a Hillwood carver to hand-carve a cedar trail name sign to install at the west end of the trail. The sign will be installed, and a simple ceremony will be held at the west end of the trail (at the cul-de-sac across from Crista Elementary) to honor Ann’s hard work by naming the trail after her. Everyone is welcome to join in.
